Most film critics claim that Madhuri Dixit is the most complete actress. In fact, she has proved to be so over the years.
Be it drama, song, comedy or dance, she does everything extraordinarily. She did so in every phase of her career. A glance at her career shows that she has initiated a new kind of cinema, thanks to her distinction of working with the best filmmakers like N.Chandra, Inder Kumar,Rahul rawail and Sooraj Barjatiya.
No wonder why she has adorned the silver screen half a century with her attractive gait, dazzling eyes and cute smile. The most elite section not only in India but across the world has become her fans. They include Atal Behari Vajpayee, Sabeer Bhatia and Sultan of
Brunei.
It may be remembered that this middle class Maharashtrian girl had made her debut in Abodh–1984. Prior to that year, perhaps nobody had imagined that one day she would become the undisputed queen of Bollywood which she eventually became.
Her journey towards success began when she gave an unprecedented hit with the dance number- Ek, Do, Teen in the film Tezaab. She proved that her acting abilities were overwhelming and her screen presence beyond expectation. Even national magazines crowned her as the film industry’s most mesmerising actress.
She never disappointed her audience as she played spirited characters in —-RAM LAKHAN,PREM PRATIGYA,TRIDEV AND DIL. She was taken seriously by the film industry as she made her mark in hero–oriented films. In the year 1994 she had reached the highest pinnacle of success when HUM APKE HAIN KOUN created history in the Indian Film industry.
When critics were about to write her off,she came with flying colours in Yash Chopra’s –DIL TO PAGAL HAI. Later,in PRAHAR, she was bold enough to act without make up. In the year 2000 Madhuri tied the knot with Shriram Nene—an Indian doctor practising in the US.
As a fitting tribute to her multi-dimensional talent, the Filmfare honoured her with special award for successfully completing 25 years in Bollywood. She also received Padmashri award for her outstanding contribution to the film industry. Now a days she is magnifying the small screen as a judge in dance reality shows and honing the future dancers of India.
In the film Gulab Gang she proved that age is no bar for talent so long as the spirit is filled with enthusiasm. The ultimate beneficiary is the entertainment industry and the India cinema with Madhuri as a living legend.
